Balming Tiger powers up surrealist fantasies on ‘Keep On’

Everything always needs to end up with a dance party

Balming Tiger has crossed the threshold where everything they do is a vibe. On ‘Keep On,’ their latest surrealist fantasy, the Korean anti-K-pop band is at it again with everything from a singer in a hot pot, mirrors going wild, pup play, Godzilla, and even a three-minute unsolved mystery at the end.

Omega Sapien starts off the video by smoking a cigarette, and then soon enough, his head is boiling in the hot pot with some other green vegetables that match his hair. The other members of the band are all high-ranking chefs and they make sure he is spiced up and cooked properly.

As Omega is served to an older couple, their pup jumps out and joins in the mayhem. Soon, the couple is chasing the singer with a video camera down the halls of his life. He’s running through a library, he comes across a long-haired sales manager, and even Godzilla joins in the fun.

Balming Tiger’s music is catchy enough that it doesn’t need to make much sense. The same goes with the video because as long as there is a dance party at the end, that’s really all that matters. For the final three minutes, there is mostly silence as the camera focuses on a guy with headphones on. Eventually, the joke is on whoever spent three minutes waiting for a payoff because there is none.
