Audrey Nuna’s life comes full circle with KPop Demon Hunters
The Korean-American opens the AFC Women’s World Cup with 60,000 people
In the early days of LiFTED, we found a cool and quirky singer and rapper who spent a lot of time during her lockdown writing what would be her debut album, a liquid breakfast. The 10-track album made some noise, had a feature with Jack Harlow, and was on repeat for a bit.
Fast forward to a year ago, Audrey had just played a SXSW show with some issues with the sound. After the show, she was approached by a studio executive from KPop Demon Hunters. A few weeks later, Audrey got the part that would go on to change her life–the singing voice of Mira. Released last June, by August, KPop Demon Hunters was Netflix’s most-watched movie ever.
Life has come full circle for Audrey Nuna. When she was in Australia last year, she was playing at venues with a 600-person capacity. Now, she’s headlining the AFC Women’s World Cup Opening Ceremonies at Perth Stadium with a capacity of 60,000. She took the chance on a project and it has exposed her to millions, won her two Golden Globes, and she’s up for two Oscars on March 16.
