Who are Asian Hip Hop’s new leaders?

Who deserves to be on this generation’s Mount Fuji?

In a marketing campaign last week, Spotify posted a billboard claiming that Hip Hop needed new leaders. With J Cole releasing his ‘final’ album, and the Kendrick Lamar/Drake’s beef an afterthought now, the trio formerly known as the big three are sunsetting. So who’s got next?

Spotify answered its own question a few days later as they announced the next generation of artists who are tearing the roof off the streaming platform. The eight leaders were Baby Keem, BigXThaPlug, Sexyy Red, GloRilla, Doechii, Central Cee, Rod Wave, and Lil Tecca. These are pretty good choices, but like any big list, anyone and everyone has their own opinions on it. But remember, Spotify does have the data to back up their claims.

This got us thinking here at LiFTED: Who are Asian Hip Hop’s new leaders? Of course, much respect goes out to the OGs in the game like Jay Park, Thaitanium, Joe Flizzow, RAMENGVRL, Yung Raja, Bohan Phoenix, MC Hot Dog, Gloc-9, Tiger JK, Keith Ape, Rich Brian, Higher Brothers, Awich, Epik High, MC Jin, CL, DIVINE, and more. But who is on this generation’s Mount Fuji of Asian rappers?
