Sahil Cheema & Sikander Kahlon fuse Punjabi Hip Hop with G-Funk flavor on ‘Many Men’
Sahil’s debut album Around the Corner is a collab with Prod by Wizard
Punjabi Hip Hop is growing at a monumental speed, but the crazy thing is that it's growing globally, not just in India. Canada is home to some interesting South Asian Hip Hop, and Sahil Cheema and Sikander Kahlon’s G-Funk flavored ‘Many Men’ is a new entry on that list.
The beat for ‘Many Men’ is from Prod by Wizard, who handles all the production on Sahil’s new album Around the Corner. It’s got a Bollywood baseline with some West Coast flourishes. Sahil is a 20-year-old, but the song feels like he’s been in the industry for years. With Sikander Kahlon swinging by to drop some knowledge, ‘Many Men’ is a nice start to a promising career.
The video for ‘Many Men’ is a mini-thriller. A woman tries to lace Sahil’s drink before he receives the call from Sikander, warning him to be careful. Soon, there is a double- and triple-cross as the ‘Many Men’ turn out to be working for him.
