It’s all about the lyrics with Twopee, Jay Park & Joe Flizzow’s ‘Backstage Midnight Freestyle’

Damn good rappers are damn good at rapping

As soon as the lineup for ‘Backstage Midnight Freestyle’ was dropped, interest was automatically piqued. That’s because Thailand’s Twopee Southside, Korea’s Jay Park, and Malaysia’s Joe Flizzow are some of the best in the game.

Twopee opens with intensity, channeling 2Pac on the track. He switches between English and Thai seamlessly, sometimes within a single bar. Jay Park, the middle act, delivers with precision and energy. Given Jay’s superstar status and recent R&B focus, it’s refreshing to see him attack the mic. His rhymes aren’t subtle, but they flow effortlessly. Twopee returns for the chorus, proving that Thailand’s legal smoking has honed his lyrical sharpness. The President, Joe Flizzow, concludes the track with a voice instantly recognizable; his delivery is deliberate and menacing, enhancing the smoothness of his bars.

Jay Park recently made a stop in KL, where Joe Flizzow opened for him, so it's only fitting that this song and video came from that session. If rapping is what you like, then damn good rapping is what you get on ‘Backstage Midnight Freestyle.’
