MFS returns with thick drums & fat basslines on ‘PRIDE’

The Japanese MC will do her first live show with a band in September

Japan’s MFS can rhyme over anything like Baile Funk or Jersey Club, but on her latest track, ‘PRIDE,’ thick drums and fat basslines steal the show. The track has a bombastic quality that makes speakers rattle and heads nod at the same time.

MFS’ flow is smooth and buttery as she raps over a Reggae and Dub-tinged beat by Bungo. In the video, MFS is living her best life with ‘PRIDE’ as she raps in a trailer, on the back of a truck, and in front of a soundsystem designed to blow up the spot.

Since she stole the show at Boiler Room Osaka, MFS has been in demand for live shows, but she’s kept her distance. That will come to an end on September 20 as she will do her first show in over a year, and this time it will be with a band. MFS will take ‘PRIDE’ in showing what an artist can do when she puts her mind to it in an intimate live setting.
