Yung Raja creates dosa tacos at The Maha Co

A fusion of Indian & Mexican food in Singapore

Known for his style and music, Yung Raja is now making waves in the food and beverage industry with The Maha Co, an Indian and Mexican fusion restaurant inspired by his mother’s dosa recipes.

Dosas and tacos share a similar structure because they both use a flatbread base to hold flavorful fillings. At The Maha Co, these elements are brought together, blending Indian and Mexican food traditions. A few years ago, Raja and his business partner, Quan from Gorilla Press, were eating Nutella on homemade dosas at Raja’s place. Their appreciation for bite-sized eats, Mexican spices, and Indian flavors inspired the idea to merge dosas and tacos.

The menu uses the Indian dosa as a taco shell and fills it with ingredients that showcase both Indian and Mexican flavors, such as crispy chicken, lamb rendang, and even a Nutella and ice cream combo for dessert. The spot has vibes for days with Indian and Mexican posters on the walls and Hip Hop bumping through the speakers.

When he’s not making music, Raja can be found at The Maha Co. He says this is his hangout spot and he’s invited all his friends, family members, and business partners to make it their creative hub as well.
