Naava & Nava collab for a dope jam

We are living in the Indian Hip Hop takeover volume 2. The first time it came to prominence was when DIVINE and the Gully Gang were everywhere. For volume 2, Hanumankind is on his way to becoming a global superstar after releasing ‘Big Dawgs’ [and his On the Radar Radio freestyle]. Now everyone is jumping on the top and sides of the Indian Hip Hop train to see where it will go.

Getting some shine right now are Yelhomie and Moko Koza from northern India, Manipur for the former, and Nagaland for the latter. On their latest single, ‘2 Sons of the East,’ they take pride in their cultural roots while refusing to conform to mediocrity.

Yelhomie starts the song and he’s repping his Naava roots properly. He discusses how fly he is, but also some of the turmoil that his land is going through. Second on deck is Moko Koza, who is Naga, unloads his clip about the unoriginal prima donnas in the Rap game.

It’s great to see different worlds come together for Hip Hop. Who knows? Soon, Northeastern India might have its chance to shine in the Indian Hip Hop movement.
