Ye Live in India postponed

The artist formerly known as Kanye West is the latest in a string of disappointments

While LiFTED had our fingers crossed it wouldn’t happen, the inevitable is here. Scheduled for May 23, Ye Live in India was postponed to an undetermined date by promoters Whitefox India on Friday, May 15. According to their social media, the reason was “Security advisories and directives issued by officials in light of the high-alert situation in the capital.”

In only one month, India has gone from the crown jewel of concerts in Asia to a place that is unstable with half a dozen big shows canceled or postponed at the last minute. Two drug overdoses started the crackdown, and now all of the big-ticket events are in trouble.

Ye’s concert was originally scheduled for March 29 in New Delhi, but that was postponed until May 23. Now, all those tickets should get refunds in the next five to seven working days, according to Whitefox.

After successfully hosting Rolling Loud India and a few years worth of Lollapaloozas, the Indian concert industry was skyrocketing. But now, with the previous cancellations and the big upcoming Shakira show in doubt, the hopes for Rolling Loud India in November are shrinking by the day.
