VannDa proves himself to be on the top of his game with ‘New Cut’
The Cambodian rapper has a willingness to evolve
Cambodian Rap superstar VannDa continues his strong run with ‘New Cut,’ a track that reinforces why he remains the country’s biggest Hip Hop export. After a breakout stretch through 2025, he returns with a sound that pushes further into global Trap territory.
Built on a Trap/Drill hybrid beat, ‘New Cut’ is backed by a sliding bass, crisp percussion, and a spacious instrumental that lets VannDa’s voice sit front and center. What stands out immediately is his delivery. Rather than the sharper flows of his earlier work, he leans into a more melodic approach. His vocals blur, drifting over the beat, reminiscent of artists like Don Toliver.
Lyrically, the track carries the familiar themes of success and self-assurance that have followed VannDa’s climb. He continues his braggadocio, yet there’s also an undercurrent of resilience with references to taking risks and pushing through years in the game. At one point he even compares his rise to Formula 1 speed while brushing off critics who doubt his path.
The result is a track that feels confident without sounding forced. For an artist already representing Cambodian Hip Hop on the international stage, that willingness to evolve may be the key to keeping the momentum alive.
