In many places around the world, May 4 is celebrated as Star Wars Day because the saying “May the Force be with you” sounds a lot like May the 4th. China’s iQIYI doesn’t give two RMBs about space movies and had different plans to start their hottest Hip Hop reality show, The Rap of China on May 4. This was only a month after they finished the eight-part Overseas Youngblood series, where they searched the globe for Chinese rappers and found quite a few good ones.
While we won’t give away too many spoilers since anyone can watch the iQIYI episodes here, The Rap of China 2024 got off to an amazing start with judges like Bohan Phoenix, MC Hot Dog, and more. There was even a surprise appearance by ShiGGA Shay. What the young MCs lack in skills, they make up for in energy and passion for Hip Hop.
