88rising has always been full of surprises, but their latest may take the cake. Instead of focusing on Asian Hip Hop or R&B, on April 5, the label released ‘Timeless’ by legendary Los Angeles group The Pharcyde.

The Pharcyde now consists of Imani, Fat Lip, and SlimKid3, while former member Booty Brown is not around. The group has been riding high and touring with Cypress Hill and other big legacy Hip Hop acts since the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and there are plans for the crew to come to Asia in the fall. They have put out two classic albums, Bizarre Ride to the Pharcyde, and Labcabincalifornia, and ‘Timeless’ fits nicely in their discography.

The Rick Rock-produced beat snaps as all three MCs showcase their enduring legacy with raps about their lives past and present. In a recent interview with PopKIllerTV in Poland, the group mentions ‘Timeless’ and says that it will be “in cahoots with NBA 2K” which 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE has been involved with before.
