Beef is nothing new to Hip Hop, but in 2026, the biggest sparring match to happen so far has been between Indian rapper Panther and Pakistani rapper Jani. This cross-border diss battle has been simmering for a while and just recently hit its tipping point.

Panther has long been on the come up in Indian Hip Hop. He made moves when he was on MTV Hustle 2.0 and also a hot Red Bull 64 Bars appearance. Jani has become a force in the Pakistani Hip Hop scene with emotional raps and collabs with big-name artists. Because of this, he’s gotten a lot of love in Pakistan as well as India.

The beef started after Panther made some comments about the 2025 Pahalgam massacre, and Jani expressed disappointment. While no tracks were released then, tension was building. During Panther’s Red Bull 64 Bars, listeners believed that he was throwing shots at the leaders in Pakistan’s Hip Hop scene.

Three weeks ago, Jani dropped a direct shot at Panter with ‘NONCHALANT,’ and it was on. Panther then responded with a nearly nine-minute ‘Non Talha,’ which not only took shots at Jani, but all of Pakistani Rap music.

A few more tracks from each artist have flooded the scene like ‘Maidan e hashar’ and ‘3-0’ by Panther and ‘Honey Moon’ and ‘Ultrasound’ by Jani as well as numerous reaction videos and hot takes. It’s good to see more people being brought into the South Asian Hip Hop fold by listening and picking sides to high-level lyrical pugilists.
