揽佬SKAI ISYOURGOD drops a Strings from Paris remix of ‘八方来财 [Stacks From All Sides]’

Stacks of good fortune is flowing from all sides

Two years ago, Strings from Paris, a Toronto-based string collective, started posting covers of songs on YouTube. At first, they were doing all-string versions of jams like Rihanna’s ‘Wild Thoughts,’ and Ye’s ‘Flashing Lights.’ Soon, they moved to doing covers of songs like Rae Sremmurd’s ‘Come Get Her’ with the full string section and the video playing in the background. Then, they started a live RE:SCORE series where artists would come and sing or rap with Strings from Paris.

Their most recently uploaded video features Guangdong China’s 揽佬SKAI ISYOURGOD doing his smash hit ‘八方来财 [Stacks From All Sides]’ is pure Strings from Paris form. The idea for this collab is that contemporary culture and Classical traditions meet, challenge, and elevate each other.

With two violins, two cellos, and SKAI’s baritone voice rapping, it feels like a perfect Lunar New Year soundtrack to getting red envelopes and letting stacks of good fortune flow from all sides.
