According to CTV8 News in Cambodia, at 1 a.m. on January 6, rapper Ruthko was involved in a traffic accident and passed away. The motorcycle Ruthko was riding collided with a Lexus in Phnom Penh. Cambodian roads are notoriously dangerous, especially at night.

As the news spread quickly, many rappers and fans gathered at the scene of the accident, and gruesome photos and videos of the incident appeared online.

Ruthko was a pioneering rapper in Cambodia’s growing Hip Hop music scene on the Klap Ya Handz label. He was signed in 2018 at the age of 17, and has since racked up millions of YouTube views for songs like ‘Change Pt 2’ and ‘Stay the Same.’ Recently, Ruthko was a brand ambassador for Idol energy drink and a Hip Hop coach on the series ‘RAPPER FIGHTER.’

Ruthko was relentlessly real, so the streets always had his back. He was a LiFTED cover star in March of 2023, and his career was continuously rising.

Rest in Peace to another rapper gone too soon.
