Earlier this year in April, RPT MCK, the most famous alumni from Rapital, the highly influential Hip Hop collective from Vietnam, dropped a trailer for his album HVL. It was shot with eight synchronized iPhones so viewers could watch it over and over again from different angles and get more action each time.

Last week, he surprise midnight dropped HVL and caused madness. The 30-track album was such a hit it appeared on Spotify’s Top Album Debut chart at number 4. Within days, the album was racking up millions of streams globally, solidifying RPT MCK’s grip on Vietnamese Hip Hop.

Yesterday, the video for ‘IDK’ appeared on RPT MCK’s YouTube channel, and it’s an anime masterpiece with Vietnamese characteristics directed by Phương Vũ of Antiantiart. In the end, MCK noted that the anime was influenced by Hellsing manga and Vampire Hunters anime.

RPT MCK is elevating Hip Hop in Vietnam to heights it has never been before. ‘IDK’ is only the first piece of his masterplan.
