Really Jing proves his worth with ‘Plastic Gun Boy’
A standout single from the Cambodian rapper’s debut album
A debut project comes with a lot of expectations. Cambodian rapper Really Jing knocked it out of the park with his latest album Forest Boy. From the record comes his latest single ‘PLASTIC GUN BOY’, an exhilarating single that showcases the hunger he has to succeed in the rap game.
The song, accompanied by a high-energy music video released last week, is a Trap banger that showcases Jing's rapid-fire verses and Auto-Tuned vocals. The track is bursting with energy which can be found throughout Forest Boy.
In an interview with LiFTED in March, he explained, “The idea of my album is about a boy in the forest who does not know anything, does not understand anything, and does not know how to get to know people. The forest boy lives in a different world in a way. Like someone who came out of the forest and wandered into the city.”
It’s this yearning and confusion to understand the world that fuels Really Jing’s music. A member of the B-side Khrew, the Cambodian rapper only began officially releasing music earlier in 2024. Now, he has established himself as a rising star in the Cambodian rap scene.
His path to music was not straightforward. He nearly gave up on making music altogether due to anxiety and a lack of confidence in his material. It wasn't until he met 2MDIE from B-side and producer Scotty Darkness that he truly began to find his footing. Their support and collaboration helped Jing develop his sound and gain the confidence needed to pursue his passion fully.
