The first vocal chop that’s heard on RAMENGVRL’s DJ set live at the Jakarta Uncensored’s 6th Anniversary is “When I die I’ll be covered in cash/When I die I’ll be covered in cashmere” from her song ‘CA$HMERE’ from a few years back. From that tease, she drops into a Baile Funk remix of the Black Eyed Peas’ ‘My Humps,’ and the party starts thumping.

RAMEN is then putting bass-heavy remixes of Asian Hip Hop classics like ‘G6’ and ‘It G Ma’ into the mix and showing herself as a proficient party-rocking DJ. Soon, a few booth baddies are added to get the visual right.

The dope thing about being RAMENGVRL is that she can grab some friends to come get on the mic if she wants. About three-fourths of the way through, Kenz jumps in the booth to drop his energetic verse from ‘cool in the summer,’ a collab with lucidrari and alva gracia. The high-energy beat of the track perfectly fits into genre-blending the RAMEN is playing. Another guest, suisei, also drops by to rock the mic and shoot the party into the stratosphere.

In the end, she loops a bit of Drake’s ‘Nokia,’ and then rides that into Ye’s ‘Mercy’ hard Tech remix. The hour-long DJ set shows RAMENGVRL’s fearlessness and devotion to playing the music she wants to play.
