The influence of 1990s New York Hip Hop can never be understated. Since DMX’s passing in 2021, his brilliance has only been further recognized by rappers around the globe. BASH da RIPPA’s latest single ‘Puff Ryders’ with JAGGLA is a shining example of how Dark Man X’s abrasive sound has gone on to inspire a generation of artists.

A single from his debut album Dying Breed, ‘Puff Ryders’ features tough performances from both rappers, channeling their inner mad dogs to deliver aggressive verses that wouldn’t be out of place on an actual Ruff Ryders album.

The track, alongside the rest of the album, was produced by DJ FRIP a.k.a Beatlab. The album is also BASH da RIPPA’s first offering as a solo artist, so a track that features one of his greatest influences only made sense.

In the music video for ‘Puff Ryders’, we see both rappers perform across dark alleys and rooftops of Tokyo - a rugged aesthetic that perfectly complements the song.
