Lowriders & thundering basslines

NIGO is involved in so many things that his staff must have a hard time keeping up. The Japanese streetwear legend has fashion, restaurants, hospitality, and music on his lengthy resume. Recently, he released ‘Alley Oop’ with Latin hitmakers Peso Pluma and Duki.

In 2022, NIGO scratched his musical itch by releasing I Know Nigo!, a star-studded album featuring everyone from Pharrell to A$AP Rocky to Tyler, the Creator. But that didn’t stop him from producing more music and in 2024 when he put out ‘Dope Boy’ with Young Thug. ‘Alley Oop’ is his first foray into the Latin music scene, and it’s heavy.

The beat for ‘Alley Oop’ is not Reggaeton, Corridos, or Ranchera. Instead, NIGO gave the two Latin rappers a Lowrider beat with a thundering bassline. The video follows the beat and there are some incredible low riders showcased rolling around Los Angeles. While it’s a different genre, some things stay the same as NIGO shows why he’s the one to call for anything creative on ‘Alley Oop.’
