Ahead of his Summer Sonic set, mgk teams up with Yuki Chiba for ‘JKK’
The Japanese & America MC show off their anime credentials
In the middle of August, mgk will be playing an early evening set at the Summer Sonic festival in Tokyo. It’s almost guaranteed that towards the end of his set, he will bring out Yuki Chiba [number 2 on 2026’s LiFTED 50], to perform their new collab, ‘JKK.’
Released last week, ‘JKK,’ shows both rappers spitting rapid-fire verses over some dark Trap production. MGK is up first and he shores up his anime bonafides by rapping about Chainsaw Man, Gogo, Demon Slayer, Hunter x Hunter, and more. He refers to himself as the Rap devil, alluding to a beef he had with Eminem in 2018. ‘JKK’ is an anime lover’s dream as Yuki also drops some references when he mentions Samurai Champloo and others.
In November, Yuki heads to North America to do 10 shows in cities like LA, SF, DC, Toronto, and Atlanta. Hopefully, mgk returns the favor and pops out to make the crowd go wild when they do ‘JKK’ together.
