MARK dips into the matrix with LEE YOUNG JI on ‘프락치 [Fraktsiya]‘
The dystopian video fits the hyperkinetic beat
At LiFTED, we try to feature videos from the Asian Hip Hop universe within the first two weeks they are out, but there are some exceptions. ‘프락치 [Fraktsiya]‘ by MARK from NCTsmtown is an exception to that rule because there are so many interesting things working on it. It’s shot with a dystopian and Matrix sci-fi feel, the music changes tempos all the time, and the duet with LEE YOUNG JI goes back and forth in an interesting way.
From the jump, the song is interesting because fraktsiya means infiltrator in Russian. Bullets fall out of the sky like rain and MARK, wearing his best Men in Black outfit, stops the bullets with his mind. He then proceeds to rap his face off. The beat switches from Drill to Jersey and back and MARK is hitting it out of the park.
Halfway through, LEE YOUNG JI drops in for a quick 16. Instead of cashing her check and heading out the door, she stays around till the end of the song and joins MARK for the hypest part of the song as it ends.
MARK’s ‘프락치 [Fraktsiya]‘ is a dope hybrid of a lot of outside influences run through the Korean machine.
