LNGSHOT trace their origins on Training Day EP

Jay Park’s understudies return with an EP that looks back at how they got here

After Jay Park introduced LNGSHOT on More Vision, they have had a meteoric rise, but their new EP Training Day shows they’re not rushing aimlessly. It arrives as a reflection of their origins, capturing the process behind the group that has already made a strong impact.

After releasing SHOT CALLERS, LNGSHOT gained traction at a breakneck pace, crossing major streaming milestones and building a global audience. That early success could have boxed them into a single sound. Instead, Training Day steps back, focusing on where their approach began.

The project brings together four solo and one group track that highlights both group dynamics and individual range. Songs like ‘Good Girls’ lean into R&B Pop, while ‘Boo Thang’ introduces a more current, vocal-driven style shaped in part by established producers. Elsewhere, ‘Summer Eyes’ strips things down, giving space to more controlled vocal work. ‘For Us’ by RYUL touches on Drill influences and is the most Hip Hop of the bunch. ‘Vanilla Days’ closes that loop with a lighter tone, reflecting the group’s early image.

What ties the EP together is intent, where they all map out the group’s foundation. Each track shows a different angle, but none feel disconnected from the whole. By revisiting their starting point, the group reinforces that they are not just shaped by influence. Instead, they understand it, and know how to build from it.
