Lizzo, NxWorries & Denzel Curry to play at Fuji Rock festival

Balming Tiger also brings their genreless style to Japan

Between 100,000 and 150,000 people attend Fuji Rock Festival at Naeba Ski Resort in Japan each year. As the biggest festival in the country, and one of the biggest in the world, the first wave of announcements is always highly anticipated. This year, one of the three headlining slots has been given to Lizzo, the Pop princess with Hip Hop and flute sensibilities who just won a Record of the Year grammy.

Another Hip Hop act at the notoriously Rock-centric festival is NxWorries, a combination of the multi-talented Anderson .Paak and beatmaker KNXWLEDGE. Denzel Curry, whose name is up there on the bill, is aiming to bring a bit of his ‘Magic’ to the festival. Bringing up the Asian Hip Hop end, Balming Tiger will entertain the masses as their high-energy live show will rip apart the very receptive Japanese audience.

The last time there was this much Hip Hop on the bill was in 2018, when Kendrick Lamar played through a typhoon and Anderson .Paak replaced the typhoon with sunshine at noon the next day on the very same White Stage. It’s good for Fuji Rock to take some chances, like with Lizzo, and bring more than just Rock & Roll acts in.
