"At the end of the day, nothing is more powerful than Rap music. I don't care what it is. We are the culture … respect the art form” - Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar Duckworth just had one of the best years for an artist in Hip Hop history, and now, he’s going to have an EVEN better week. Things started pretty well as the Compton MC won five Grammys for his Drake dissing ‘Not Like Us’ on Sunday night including the obligatory Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video. Then, he even went into the categories they show on TV and won for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. It was a surprising yet deserved sweep for the defining song of 2024 [and maybe for the whole 2020s].

What can top this?

Next Monday, Kendrick is headlining the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans with 100 million people watching in person and on various devices around the world. While he won’t get paid for his performance, his streams will skyrocket and Kendrick will be Crip-walking all over Drake’s lifeless carcass -again- while those people scream A MINOR like at .56 of this video accepting the fourth of his five Grammys:
