Hip Hop artists work so much making music that sometimes all the songs start to sound the same. That's why working with new people tends to bring out something different. A perfect example of this is DJ CHARI & DJ TATSUKI’s ‘I’m the One’ featuring Nene and Lex. Both of the rappers are known for their outlandish behavior, but ZOT on the Wave and Homunculu$’s woozy beat gives them a chance to get introspective on the track.

LEX is up first and in the past, he’s called himself God and the King of Everything. On ‘I’m the One,’ LEX slows down and looks at his life from a new angle. There’s still the flexing about his wrist or buying a Cadillac just because he was bored, but he’s also pontificating on how he’s turning his haters into fans and his former fans are turning on him.

NENE comes out firing on verse two. She explains how she used to be stressed about not being normal, but then realized that was her superpower. She levels up to rapping double time and rhymes about people saying she had one percent talent and was carried by 99 hands. All of that comes out in the water because she’s not the same as anyone else.

The video suits the music perfectly as both rappers are shot in black and white inside a venue with lights flaring and glaring constantly. It shows that Hip Hop is not just partying 100 percent of the time. Instead it’s the self-awareness that makes LEX and NENE ‘the One.’
