Divine proves that Walking on Water is more than just a metaphor
The king stays on top while the rest chase his wave
Divine took the stage at Rolling Loud India with a full band and proceeded to tear the roof off that mother sucka. Bringing out Riar Saab, MC Altaf, and Sambata, he turned the set into a Gully Gang family affair while shouting out peers like Seedhe Maut and Hanumankind. He even previewed several tracks from his then-unreleased album Walking on Water. If anyone still doubted Divine’s status going into the show, they walked out knowing exactly why he’s called the Triple OG.
Now available on all streaming platforms, Walking on Water finds the Gully Gang leader locked in and laser-focused. The opening run of Walking on Water, ‘Dr. Divine,’ and ‘Jungle Juice’ sets the tone. The first two are introspective, pulling back the curtain on Divine’s life and mindset, while ‘Jungle Juice’ flips a Bollywood sample into a slow-burning, brooding banger.
MC Altaf and Sambata link up with Divine on the Gully Gang posse cut ‘ABCD,’ while Hanumankind slides through on ‘Tequila Tales,’ a party-ready track that feels like a mid-2000s Neptunes throwback. Previously released singles ‘Rain,’ ‘You & I,’ and ‘Triple OG’ slot seamlessly into the tracklist, rounding out an album that balances reflection, flexing, and forward momentum.
After the global ambitions of 2022’s Gunehgar, Divine refocuses his energy back on the Indian subcontinent and proves once again that he’s operating on a different level. When it comes to Indian Hip Hop, Divine is still Walking on Water.
