Hong Kong’s Star Ferry gets Dior-ed out

The luxury brand has reimagined the inside & outside of the boat

You may have a Dior bag. Maybe even some Dior shoes. Or there may be really expensive Dior earrings hanging from your ear. Those may match your Dior necklace. But do you have a Dior ferry? We’re not talking about a regular boat or a yacht, but a Dior ferry that can transport 50,000 people per day through a harbor with one of the best views in the world.

Hong Kong does.

Dior has just reimagined a Star Ferry in Hong Kong complete with Dior flags at both ends as well as the criss-cross Cannage pattern on the outside of the boat. Inside the boat has been Dior-ed out, too. The seats have pillows and the life buoys have images of the Dior store on Avenue Montaigne on them. This isn’t the first time Dior has dipped their toes into the Hong Kong Harbor. Last year, the luxury brand sailed a junk with a Dior mast around the harbor for it’s Dioriviera campaign.

The Star Ferry is iconic in many ways. Not only does it bring 50,000 people per day across Victoria Harbor, but it’s a part of public transportation that attracts tourists. Taking the Star Ferry is a great way to see Hong Kong island and Kowloon, and it’s cheap. Dior has made something that is an everyday item for many people in Hong Kong and added luxury to it.
