Bobby Shmurda fuels a Korean cypher in ‘Gassed Up’
The Brooklyn rapper locks in with Ted Park, Dbo디보, Yun B, Parlay Pass & Loopy루피
Two months ago, Ted Park and Bobby Shmurda linked up for ‘Double Up’ in K-Town. Last week, Ted doubled down by flying Bobby out to Korea for Gassed Up, a party during Korean Blockchain Week. To make things even doper, they released the ‘Gassed Up’ cypher and stacked the lineup with Dbo 디보, Yun B, Parlay Pass, and Loopy 루피.
The beat behind ‘Gassed Up’ is deceptively simple because it is built on a looping, jittery drum pattern that feels both hypnotic and urgent. Bobby Shmurda opens with raw Brooklyn energy, reminding everyone why he’s still an OG, spitting about “44s aimed at ya door” while effortlessly adapting to the K-hop vibe.
Ted Park splits his slot between punchy bars and melodic R&B, showing off his dual strengths. Yun B pops bottles and flexes his charisma, while Dbo 디보 anchors the track with the hook before diving into his own loose and animated bars. Parlay Pass keeps it inward and moody, carving out a different lane entirely. Loopy slides in to close things out, It almost feels like he showed up late to the shoot, but his polish ties the cypher together.
In the end, all six MCs prove the same thing: a cypher can still be one of the best ways to hype a party, a show, or an entire movement. ‘Gassed Up’ isn’t just promo. It’s a snapshot of K-hop and global Rap colliding in real time.
