Big Sean bridges the gap between Detroit & Tokyo with One or Eight in ‘Kawasaki’

The lines are blurring between so many different genres of music right now

In June, J-Pop group One or Eight dropped a performance video of ‘Kawasaki.’ With a backdrop of Mt. Fuji in some of the frames, the eight idols showed off their dancing, rapping, and motorcycle driving skills. Within 10 days, 10 million people viewed ‘Kawaskai’ so the group decided it was all or nothing with the track.

Since June, the public has been eating up Japanese and American collabs, with Megan Thee Stallion and Yuki Chiba’s ‘Mamushi’ getting more than 58 million views alone.

One or Eight decided they needed someone huge to get on the remix, so seven-time Grammy nominee Big Sean came in and dropped an ill verse on the ‘Kawasaki’ remix. One or Eight’s tagline is ‘Bet on yourself.’ By bridging the gap from Detroit to Tokyo with Big Sean, the group has definitely hit the jackpot.
