In 2024, Summer Sonic expanded from its home country of Japan and made a foray into Bangkok, Thailand. The lineup was lacking in Hip Hop headliners, even though F.Hero did make an appearance with BABYMETAL and BODYSLAP.

The full 2025 lineup for Summer Sonic Bangkok on August 23 and 24 has been revealed, and the powers that be went in a very Hip Hop direction with Black Eyed Peas, 21 Savage, Creepy Nuts, R&B goddess Alicia Keys, among other local Japanese and Thai groups. The Black Eyed Peas are doing a few shows around Asia this summer. 21 Savage was last in Asia for ComplexCon in 2024. Creepy Nuts had one of the biggest shows they’ve ever done at Clockenflap in 2024.

The big draw on that card, though, is the inaffable Alicia Keys. Alicia has won 17 Grammy Awards, is a New York Times best-selling author, and recently opened a play she wrote, HELL’S KITCHEN, on Broadway, which won her two Tony Awards. With two RIAA Diamond-certified hits [‘Empire State of Mind’ and ‘No One’] and a few sold-out global tours under her belt, Alicia Keys and Summer Sonic Bangkok is worth flying to Thailand for.
