For the past two and a half years, listeners at 88rising Radio were treated to all Asian music 24 hours a day seven days a week. When the station started, it was the first of its kind in the US. On December 29, on the radio station’s Instagram page, an announcement was made that stated the things were over.

“Dear Friends, fans, and followers,” it said. “It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the end of 88rising Radio. Over the last 2.5 years, we have used our platform to share the incredible art from Asian artists around the world.”

The post went on to thank everyone who had supported them and for all the contributions. Many artists posted tributes to the radio station like Ted Park who stated, “Much love for everything y’all do.”

There was no word on whether other radio stations would pop up out of the ashes of 88rising Radio.
