50 Cent takes The Final Lap in Bangkok [Gallery]
The concert was much more than just a live version of Get Rich or Die Tryin’
On the 20th anniversary of his magnum opus, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, 50 Cent embarked on a world tour with 103 shows that spanned North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. On Tuesday, December 19, the show hit Bangkok at the IMPACT Arena and showed why 50 is much more than just a rapper.
Instead of just a few guys spitting over hot beats, The Final Lap was an impressive production that included a four-piece band, a DJ, 10 dancers, huge movable screens, as well as smoke, lasers, fire, and fireworks. 50 is ‘done’ with touring, so he’s going out with a bang for sure.
With Tony Yayo and Uncle Murder at his side the whole night, 50 dropped a slew of hits including ‘Hate It or Love It’, ‘P.I.M.P’, ‘Candy Shop’, ‘Disco Inferno’, ‘Many Men,’ and more. After 8 outfit changes, I stopped counting, but 50 also brought out special guest Jeremiah to perform their hit ‘Put It Down on Me.’ A grand piano appeared on the stage as 50 left and Jeremiah showed off his skills on the ivory and then dropped into his mega-hit ‘Birthday Sex.’
The grand finale was ‘In Da Club’ as golden streamers rained down from the sky. 50 eventually brought Jeremiah back out for ‘Don’t Tell ‘Em’ and ‘Feels Like Money’ and then walked off the stage for his final time to a rowdy ovation.
