Young Cocoa comes into his own on STILL COCOA

The turning point is now

Filipino rapper Young Cocoa steps into a defining moment with his STILL COCOA, a six-track EP that feels equal parts confession and reintroduction. After years of being associated with early breakout hits, this project marks a shift where he finally takes ownership of his growth, alongside the uncomfortable in-between that comes with getting older.

Across the EP, Cocoa leans into that tension. Tracks like ‘WHEN DO I GET OLD?’ confront the quiet panic of aging in an industry obsessed with youth, while ‘flew2bali4ahug’ taps into the ache of drifting apart from the people who once felt closest. There’s a sense of honesty here, unguarded and unpolished in the best way. It gives the project the feeling of a journal entry written in real time.

Fan favourites ‘inboxxx’, ‘Cheap Thrills’, and ‘Raspberry’ slot in seamlessly beside new cuts, but it’s the lead single ‘STILL COCOA (fly)’ that delivers the project's heart. It’s a moment of release, where Cocoa finally lets go of the expectation to recreate past success and allows himself to explore the full width of his artistry. It’s hopeful and quietly triumphant.

STILL COCOA isn’t just a new chapter. It’s the turning point of an artist stepping into who he’s becoming, even if he’s still figuring it out along the way.
