Tiger JK & Yoonmirae let video game nostalgia run wild in ‘Let Me Love You’
The fheel-good song focuses on the Pop part in Hip Pop
For Tiger JK and Yoonmirae, ‘Let Me Love You’ is as much a real story as it is a song and video. The two Korean stars have been married since 2007 and even formed the Hip Hop group MFBTY [My Fans Better Than Yours] in 2013 with Bizzy. They’ve released songs like ‘Forever,’ ‘Fly Like an Eagle,’ ‘Ghood Family,’ ‘Draw Your Love,’ ‘Self Love,’ and ‘Jinju’ over the years.
For ‘Let Me Love You,’ Yoonmirae is roller skating and hitchhiking when Tiger pulls up and invites her to a theater. They get tickets but find a secret closet with some old school video games. The two compete in video games with themselves in Street Fighter-like universes, Mario-like worlds, and PAC-MAN’s mazes.
The song definitely focuses on the Pop part of Hip Pop. While there is some rapping and yapping, it’s a fheel-good song for late summer that lands with a twist of nostalgia.
