The contest culminated with a final between Japanese dancer The D Soraki and Nigerian dancer King DaVinci. The standoff was split into four songs, the first being Sean Paul’s ‘Temperature’, followed by Masked Wolf’s ‘Astronaut in the Ocean’, and then Master KG’s ‘Jerusalema’, before finishing with Junior Senior’s ‘Move Your Feet’. After a hard-fought battle, The D Soraki was crowned the world champion.

Speaking to IOL, the Japanese champion The D Soraki shared his thoughts after walking away with the victory, “I'm still in shock; it hasn't sunk in yet that I have won. I think I still need to process everything that has happened, but it was a phenomenal experience for me. I can't wait to get back to my country and tell everyone about the unity of street dance culture that came through this amazing competition.”

The D Soraki flew Japan’s flag high with his performance during the contest, and he has put Asian dancers on the world map.
