Swings is one of the hardest-working vets within South Korea’s Hip Hop music industry. When he’s not producing or releasing music, he’s judging or participating on Mnet’s acclaimed reality Hip Hop reality series, Show Me the Money. Last year, he founded AP Alchemy, a record label that has been steadily releasing music since its inception.

Swings’ first-ever release came in the form of an EP titled Upgrade back in 2008. In 2011, he dropped Upgrade II, this time, in the form of an LP. This continued in 2018 when he released Upgrade III and Upgrade 0. Two years after that, Upgrade IV came. And most recently, on March 8, Upgrade V arrived.

The brand-new album boasts 17 tracks and features from numerous artists both up-and-coming and established. One of its standout tracks, however, is a solo offering from the man himself, entitled ‘WORK’. On it, Swings doesn’t hold back. Although his delivery and tone is relaxed, its lyrical content is cocky and all up in your face. But can you blame him? With all the work he’s done over the years, he deserves to be just that. “I must be rude, I am the center of the scene,” he proclaims on ‘WORK’, and that pretty much sums it all up.
