Skateboarding’s first-ever Olympic gold medalist releases NFT

Yuto Horigome celebrates his Golden 22

At the age of 22, most people are working, figuring out what they want to do with their lives, trying to graduate from college, or as Yuto Horigome is doing, releasing an NFT to commemorate the best year of his life. Over this past summer, Yuto won a gold medal in the Olympics for skateboarding. To make that even sweeter, it was the first time that skateboarding was in the Olympics and it was in his home country of Japan.

Yuto has decided to commemorate his best year ever, his age of 22, with the Golden 22, an NFT put out by FWENCLUB, a new digital and physical collectibles creation platform. The Golden 22 is a 3D digital sculpture that is metaverse-ready. This means that whoever buys it has complete licensing rights for all digital formats.

The NFT comes with a set of 3D source files of Yuto’s avatar so the owner can use them in any imaginary scenario. This is very interesting because instead of signing a sponsorship deal with Yuto, someone in the metaverse might sign his NFT to a sponsorship deal and that means the owner rakes in all the cash from that. This digital sculpture can be used for collectibles, digital merchandise, games, art, videos, and even more NFTs. The NFT world is changing right before out eyes, and the possibilities are only limited by people’s imaginations.

Yuto said about his NFT in a press release, “Age 22 was the best year of my life so far. To celebrate, I’m teaming up with FWENCLUB to release my first ever NFT. It is a digital sculpture that captures the trick which helped me win the Olympics, and also all the special moments of this year. You can own “The Golden 22” version of me, and even take me to the metaverse. As I bid farewell to this incredible year, I am so excited to memorialize all my achievements and share them with the world.”

Bidding on this one-of-a-kind NFT starts on January 15 at FWENCLUB here.
