Thriving for connectivity with Jakarta’s [P]ronounce

Re-map, re-discover & re-learn about underground music & the subcultures around it

LiFTED | Marcus Aurelius | 29 Mar 2022

After being trapped on the inside for a long time, a night out listening to the sounds of Liquid Funk, Electronic Soul, and Future Jazz sounds delightful. Three bands and two DJs make this happen on Wednesday, March 30, at the [P]ronounce party hosted by Hura Creative Garage and Batavia Collective at Three Buns Jakarta.

Indonesian and South East Asian underground musicians will be showcased at [P]ronounce. The aforementioned Batavia Collective is an Afrocentric Liquid Jazz trio that are the first Indonesian artists signed to the influential Belgian record label, R&S Records. Joining Batavia Collective on stage is Mantra Vutura who plays their distinct style of NeoSoul, and Dekat, an AMI-nominated R&B band that slaps harder than Will Smith. The DJs are Noisewhore and Muztang from the Javabass Sound System.

[P]ronounce aims to connect music lovers through re-learning, re-mapping, and re-discovering that feeling you get when you are in a group of people who are seeing and hearing new things for the first time. This is volume one of a party series that aims to show a lot of love for underground sounds.
