Straight from the jump on his brand-new single, ‘Malfunction,’ Khantrast isn’t playing it safe. He immediately courts controversy with, “No chinks in my armor, guess that makes me racist/ And shawty said she depressed that mean her coochie amazing/ I don’t talk I’m an introvert, I'm used to the alienation/ Written off was never on a list/ Now they like I’m too A-list.”

The opening line feels intentionally loaded. In the video, the moment he says “racist,” Khantrast locks eyes with the camera for a split second. It’s the kind of knowing glance that suggests he understands exactly how provocative the bar is and that people will be talking about it.

Then there’s the technical side. On paper, “racist” and “amazing” don’t rhyme, but Khantrast bends the syllables until they do. It’s a subtle reminder that flow and delivery can sometimes matter more than perfect rhyme schemes.

Beyond the opening shock value, ‘Malfunction’ becomes a showcase for the Brooklyn MC’s versatility. The track leans heavily into a Jersey Club bounce, even dropping a double dose of break-heavy rhythms when he starts rapping about needing his girl. The result is chaotic, futuristic, and undeniably catchy.

By balancing controversy, clever wordplay, and cutting-edge production, Khantrast is carving out a lane for himself in the modern Rap landscape.
