Universal Music Korea drops merchandise for Nigo’s recent album release
The collection comes in the form of sweatshirts, hoodies & T-shirts
When it comes to being a multi-hyphenate artist, there aren’t many who do it as greatly as Tomoaki Nagao, more widely known as NIGO. The Japanese fashion designer, DJ, producer, and entrepreneur just turned 52 and his influence on Japanese streetwear and Hip Hop is immeasurable. He founded the streetwear brand BAPE, and he is one-fifth of the rap group Teriyaki Boyz, who gave the world the iconic ‘Tokyo Drift [Fast & Furious]’.
In March 2022, NIGO released his first album after 22 years, titled I Know NIGO! He recruited Pharrell Williams to work alongside him as co-executive producer of the album, along with a number of American Rap stars – A$AP ROCKY, Tyler, The Creator, Pusha T, Lil Uzi Vert, and more.
Now, Universal Music Korea has dropped a brand new collection of merchandise for it. It comes in the form of sweatshirts, hoodies, and T-shirts. They come with the album art printed on them, as well as its name, I know NIGO.
If there was a way to celebrate and rep the man that helped pave the way for streetwear and Hip Hop culture in Japan and all of Asia, copping these would definitely be up there.
