Clockenflap is back!

Hong Kong’s much-loved eclectic music festival returns in March 2023

2018 seems like a few lifetimes ago. That’s the last year that Hong Kong’s premier eclectic live music festival happened. Since then, there have been life-changing protests that shut down Hong Kong as well as a pandemic that halted international travel for two years.

As a sign that normality is on the schedule, Clockenflap is back! Sound the horns! Beat the drums! Life is coming back!

On November 8, Clockenflap’s Facebook page announced that from March 5 to March 8 at Central Harbourfront, the festival is back. Screams of joy could be heard from many corners of the internet as a communal live experience is what people desperately want. One commenter even wrote, “This is the best Hong Kong news in ages. I had begun to lose hope.”

Clockenflap was started in 2008 and attended by 1,500 people. It’s grown into one of the must-attend music festivals in Asia, and in 2018, there were 80,000 guests. From 2008 to 2018, the festival expanded by changing venues, adding stages, and getting bigger talent.

Some of the amazing acts to grace that stage at Clockenflap have been LCD Soundsystem, M.I.A., Erykah Badu, and Parliament Funkadelic, along with Hip Hop acts like Stormzy, Bohan Phoenix, and The Low-Mays.

While no acts have been mentioned or ticket information has been released, Clockenflap just wanted to make sure everyone’s schedule is cleared for March 5 to March 8 for the 2023 version of their much-missed festival.
