Bantai Records receives death threat over Sidhu Moose Walla song
The gangster demanded nearly US$120,000
One day before he released his tribute to slain MC Sidhu Moose Walla last week, Emiway Bantai’s record label, Bantai Records, got a death threat. The text message said that if Emiway Bantai didn’t pay the gangster ₹1 crore, the equivalent of nearly US$120,000 within 24 hours, he would be killed.
The threatening message stated, “I am gangster Goldy Brar. Your singer has 24 hours. I want ₹1 crore or I will kill him.” Goldy Brar has publically bragged that he’s the one who killed Sidhu and is friendly with the jailed Lawrence Bishnoi, who is the supposed mastermind of crime.
As soon as a Bantai employee spotted the message, they filed a report with the police. As of press time, no money was paid, and Emiway remains alive.
