The best version of WONDERFRAME

“I’ve gone through tough times, but I’ve learned, grown, and refined myself into the best version of who I am.”

LiFTED | Sean D | 16 Jan 2025

Thailand’s WONDERFRAME is a genuine quadruple threat because she sings, raps, writes, and acts. LiFTED first became aware of her in 2023 when she came out and tore it up at Rolling Loud Thailand with one of the cutest, sexiest, and funniest performances of the festival. It was obvious then that the crowd knew her and loved her. She’s been acting and singing for over a decade and even had a huge hit, ‘Suddenly’ with YOUNGOHM in 2017 that blew up as one of the biggest Thai tracks of that year. The song has over 150 million YouTube views to date and put her special blend of Thai Pop meets R&B meets Hip Hop on the map. We don’t need to tell you what’s happened to YOUNGOHM since then, as he’s currently ranked #9 in all of Asia in the LiFTED 50.

With two million followers on IG and another 3.4 million on TikTok, Supakchaya Sukbaiyen AKA ‘Frame’ AKA WONDERFRAME is fast becoming an ‘It girl’ in the buzzy Thai entertainment industry. She has cuteness with an edge and makes videos that push sexiness right up to the boundaries, yet retains the approachable girl-next-door quality that endears her to her many fans. It helps that she releases her music almost exclusively in Thai, right down to the language of the song titles and lyrics. This self-described ‘unicorn’ clearly knows what she is doing and it’s working. LiFTED is excited to get this chance to sit down with her and find out more.

Hey Wonderframe! Great to finally meet you. Sawasdee krub!

Hey!! Great to meet you, too.

First things first, how did you get the nickname ‘Frame,’ and then how did you come up with Wonderframe for your artist name?

In Thailand, parents often nickname their children after memorable or important things. My dad was a photographer, so he named my brother Flash and me Frame. The meaning of Frame in his eyes was the same as a picture frame to keep good memories. The name Wonderframe came about pretty randomly, though. Some probably believe that the name has a deep meaning, however, the truth is I just love Wonder Woman as she is fearless, which has been inspiring to me. So I named myself Wonderframe to be fearless just like her.

You grew up in Bangkok, right? Were you always drawn to Hip Hop? Were you a fan of OGs like Gancore Club and Thaitanium?

Growing up in Bangkok, these OG Hip Hop artists were very inspiring to me and the younger generation. However, I never really thought that one day I would become a Hip Hop artist. For me, Hip Hop was mostly limited to Western culture and was mainly run by men. So, as you can imagine being a small Asian girl from Thailand, dreams of one day becoming a successful female Hip Hop artist seemed quite rare.

After you finished university were you more drawn to being an actor or a musician? Which happened first?

After graduating, I was quite confused because most of my friends already had jobs. However, being an artist has been my only dream since I was a child, and I wanted to make it come true. So I decided to fight for my dream. Along the way, I had some acting opportunities, but my main focus remained on becoming a musical artist. Then I enrolled in a music production course and began writing my own songs.

You seem to release a steady stream of Thai Pop style songs along with your more R&B-flavored stuff. Like your recent song ‘Only Love Me’ featuring LEGENDBOY. It’s pure Pop. Is this where your core fans are? Do you enjoy doing the saucy songs like ‘So Big’ more?

For me as an artist, one of the most important things is keeping the song original and fresh. Sometimes that means experimenting with different genres, different styles, or featuring different artists. At the end of the day, good music often comes from life experiences, so I hope my fans enjoy the stories I tell.

Your track ‘Suddenly’ with YOUNGOHM was such a massive hit, is it your biggest one to date?

For sure “อยู่ดีๆก็…” is one of the tracks that I am most proud of. Probably one of my biggest hits, too. I had a great time working on that single with YOUNGOHM. I think our energy really clicked.

24

We loved you at Rolling Loud Thailand in ‘23. You even got in a shout-out with us! Can you tell us about that experience and what it meant to you?

Thank you so much! It truly means the world to me. Performing at Rolling Loud had been one of my dreams. Something my team and I had dedicated ourselves to and worked extremely hard to prepare for. So as a dreamer, it felt like a dream come true.

If you could collab with any Asian Hip Hop artist, who would it be and why?

I’m currently very interested in Asian Hip Hop artists. I try to listen to new songs from emerging artists every day. There’s a female Vietnamese artist who has completely captured me, named Tlinh. If I could choose, I would love to collaborate with her.

Growing up, who were your favorite rappers, and how did they influence you?

I grew up with Nicki Minaj’s music. She’s the first and only Hip Hop artist who still influences me to this day. I practiced rapping for the first time with her song ‘Super Bass.’ That song opened up a whole new side of me. To me, becoming a famous artist isn’t as difficult as becoming a quality artist who’s respected over a long period of time. I have to admit, she’s done it exceptionally well.

Please let our readers know what’s in store for WONDERFRAME in 2025.

In 2025, I hope to bring you the best version of Wonderframe. I’ve dedicated myself and worked tirelessly to prepare for my new set. There were moments when I felt lost or discouraged. I’ve gone through tough times, but I’ve learned, grown, and refined myself into the best version of who I am. I hope this energy reaches everyone and brings happiness to all. This year is going to be the greatest year!
