This is huge for Asian Hip Hop

On March 28, 2021, VannDa released ‘Time to Rise’ and his life hasn’t been the same since. In a year and a half, he toured Asia, put out tons of new material, and became one of the biggest superstars in Asia. Recently, ‘Time to Rise’ hit 100 million views on YouTube making it one of the biggest tracks ever in Asian Hip Hop and VannDa is now the first Cambodian to hit that marker.

While we celebrate VannDa’s greatness, one of the big reasons ‘Time to Rise’ struck a chord with so many people was because of Master Kang Noy and his playing of the Cambodian instrument the two-stringed chapei. Unfortunately, Master Kang Noy, who is known as the Ray Charles of Cambodia, has high blood pressure, lung problems, diabetes, and declining health, and may never play the chapei again. VannDa and his management company, Baramey Productions, have put together a campaign called Rise for Master to help raise money for the Kang Noy’s treatment to make the rest of his time alive more comfortable.
