Tyga gives Malaysian fans a taste on August 9
The Compton rapper will turn Zepp Kuala Lumpur in Rack City
Tyga is an MC with nine lives. He’s originally from Compton, California, even though his sound hasn’t always been West Coast. He was an independent artist until he got signed by Young Money and soon he was in with Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Lil Wayne. When ‘Rack City’ came out, it became and still is one of the defining songs of the 2010s. But Tyga wasn’t happy at Young Money and was soon signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music. At the beginning of 2018, Tyga put out the album Kyoto and it didn’t even chart in 2018. For most rappers, this would have been the end of their career, but Tyga has nine lives.
By the summer of 2018, Tyga was reborn when he hit Billboard gold with ‘Taste’ featuring Offset. The summer jam of summer jams reinvigorated his career after a five-year lull, and soon he released ‘Dip’ and ‘Swish,’ which use the same formula that Tyga uses for most of his songs now. Tyga will make it nasty when he lands in Malaysia on August 8 for a one-night-only show at Zepp Kuala Lumpur brought by the people behind the Pinkfish Festival.
For those who want to ball out with bottle-popping music, the Tyga concert will be the place to hear ‘Ayo,’ ‘Girls Have Fun,’ Haute,’ as well as the Latin-influenced ‘Loco Contigo,’ and the dance-inducing ‘Ayy Macarena.’
Tickets for Tyga are on sale at the Pinkfish website here.
