The Thai rapper leans further into Hyperpop territory
Thai rapper Percy has been steadily pulling away from the melodic Hip Hop that first made his name, and 'SWAG RHAPSODY' is his most committed step yet into Opium-esque and Hyperpop territory. Named after his own streetwear label, the single wastes no time at all in establishing his new sound.
The production rumbles more than it knocks, built on smeared low end and distortion like the usual Opium tradition, while Percy's vocals sit buried under heavy Auto-Tune that give his performance a robotic sheen.
Lyrically, he keeps things squarely in party mode, flexing his money and running through the women he's hoping to pull over the course of a night out. It's music built for theTikTok crowd as it’s filled to the brim with quotables you’d throw onto your Snap stories.
