Hip Hop and the NBA go hand in hand. A lot of the same people that like the NBA love playing video games like NBA2K. This year’s edition, to be released on September 9, will have global superstars like Drake, Jack Harlow, Megan Thee Stallion, Kaytranada, Doja Cat, and more on the soundtrack.

Included on the 50 artists who will be played during the video games are Asian Hip Hop superstars Jay Park, pH-1, Rich Brian, Jackson Wang, and SIK-K. This is big news as Asian Hip Hop is starting to leak into a lot of places where it’s never been before. Last year, Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings was the first movie soundtracked by 88rising, and now a lot of that same crew is back for NBA2k23.

2k23 beats

This game is special not because it’s the best basketball game out. Everyone knows that. But 2k23 is going to be unreal for three things. First up, Michael Jordan and his Air Jordans are in it for the first time ever. That’s huge as he’s stayed away from anything but his own video games his whole life. Secondly, J. Cole is on the Dreamville cover, and he’s a playable character. That means a lot more fun from a rapper who can actually hoop. And third, Asain Hip Hop royalty is on the soundtrack. While they may not be hoopers yet in the game, there’s always 2k24.
