MJ116 returns: Taiwan’s treacherous trio sharpen their tongues with ‘無袂煞 I ain’t done yet’
It’s the single off their first album in 6 years, OGs
A week ago, out of the blue, the MJ116 crew dropped a quick hit on their social media channels depicting a woman giving birth. As the doctors and nurses tried to help her, they ended up holding three babies with the heads of Muta, Kenzy, and E.So, announcing that their first album in six years, OGs, would be out soon. On April 2, Taiwan’s treacherous trio dropped the first single, ‘無袂煞 I ain’t done yet.’ The song, produced by Tipsy Kao, has some Old School flourishes, including the instantly recognizable blues guitar sampled by DJ Muggs on Cypress Hill’s ‘Insane in the Brain,’ often thought of as a horse sound.
MJ116 does what they do best, and that’s rock their verses in three unique ways. Big man Muta continues his fixation with fly rides as he drifts down a mountainside with fire coming from his wheels. Kenzy is the lyrical assassin of the bunch and can even stop other MCs’ Matrix-like bullets from hitting him. E.So’s is Taiwan’s biggest advertising magnet, but besides his good looks, he also raps from the heart and on ‘無袂煞 I ain’t done yet,’ he even steps out of his comfort zone and tries some new styles. E.So even throws a shot at R&B singer/rapper ØZI, which has the whisperers whispering.
With OGs, ‘無袂煞 I ain’t done yet,’ and a slot on Head in the Clouds Guangzhou, MJ116 is back to reclaim their crowns.
