The MetaMoon Music Festival makes a move to Dubai

The celebration of Asian music will be on February 15

The MetaMoon Music Festival has been notable because it hand-picked artists from Asia to come and perform in New York City. In 2022, Lay Zhang, 9m88, ØZI, and more were selected for the inaugural festival at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. In 2023, the festival morphed into the MetaMoon Block Party with Psy.P from the Higher Brothers, Miss Ko, Japan’s Nene, and MC Jin.

This year, MetaMoon is hitting the road and heading to Dubai on February 15 to spread Asian Pop and Hip Hop music to the Middle Eastern hub. The headliner is Super Junior’s Henry Lau, Korea’s Lee Young Ji, and MC Jin will be on hosting duties. One of the different things this time around is that there will be more elements added with Red Bull’s Dance Your Style Champion, Vietnam’s MT Pop showcasing his dancing skills, and DJ Poon, a veteran New York DJ.

MetaMoon Music Festival founder Grace Chen said to Billboard, “Audiences nowadays are sophisticated and more connected and aware of what is going on in other parts of the world. Music as a global language travels and I think there is a natural curiosity to want to see an artist perform live when you’ve only had the chance to see them online or on social media. MetaMoon is that place where fans can connect with their favorite artist or discover new music.”
